Preemies

bully nurse

I have a big problem at my pedi office. both of her nurses seem to act like they run the show. last week my h and i were there ( they didnt know he was with me as he was standing away from the door. they were standing in the hallway shouting at me  together saying that my daughter is one yr old and it is "the law" they they do blood work today. one of them stormed away saying " i have to things today that i dont want to do...so get over it"/ my h was shocked, i have told him several times that they are total bitches. my pedi is the wife of one of my h's friends. this was h's  first time coming to the pedi's office. he didnt believe me how they bully, roll their eyes at me, talk rudely. and what, i am not suppossed to say anything and deal with this because my h knows the drs' husband? they are totally out of line and at my next appt i am gonna tell doctor that I  make the rules for my daughter like it our not,,,,, or i will go somewhere else.  my pedi have a deak that my baby only gets one shot per month so she can see her more frequently. just to keep an eye on things being she was tiny and iugr. so we have been doing this from day one. i go back on monday.....i may be looking for a new doctor on tuesday.

Re: bully nurse

  • I think I would be looking for a new ped tomorrow!  That seems like completely unacceptable behavior for nurses.  You are in charge of your child's health.
  • I would speak directly to the doctor and office manager about this.  See if the issue doesn't resolve.  We had this happen once and this rectified the situation.  The nurse was reprimanded.

  • I wouldn't wait to find a new doc either - I'd cancel the appointment, find a new pediatrician, and write a letter explaining why I left the practice.

Because, ick,  there is no law demanding that standard 1 year-old bloodwork be done on any particular day.  Sometimes a kid has had enough.  Sometimes the lab is too busy to do the draw.  Shouting at patients is *horrible* practice.
