I had an ultrasound this past Monday and was told that each of my girls weighs about 2lbs 15oz. For some reason, this seems small to me, although the tech didnt seem to worried.
If it is small, what can I do to fatten them up?? )
I've started adding Ensure Plus (350 calories, 11 grams of fat, and 13 grams of protein). Not sure how well it'll work, had a growth U/S 3w agon and will have another in a week or so.
My girls were each 3.3 at 30 wks. By 34, one was only 4 lbs. and the other was 4.15. My peri also suggested adding 2-3 liquid protein shakes per day (based off of studies done that reported that the liquid nutrients had an easier time crossing through the placenta). He said any brand was good, but the higher the protein in them, the better.
GL and hope you are doing well! I have been keeping you in thougt!!!
At 30 weeks ours were around 3lbs. I thought that was small but the MFM said that as long as they are staying on a normal growth pattern he is ok with their weights. One of ours is now starting slow down in growth so they recommend less activiity for me and spending more time on my left side to get her the nutrition she needs.
2 chem preg, 4 failed IUIs, 2 canc IVFs, 2 BFN IVFs, IVF #5 = BFP!!! 3/23 Beta #1 @ 17dpo = 913, Beta #2 @ 19dpo = 1724, Beta #3 @ 21 dpo = 3240 First u/s 3/29 @ 5 weeks 2 days - 3 sacs
6 weeks 3 days - 3 heartbeats
8 Weeks - Lost Baby C, Babies A and B going strong
My girls were both 3lb7 oz at my 30 week scan this week. Baby B gained 15 oz from two weeks before, but Baby A had only gained 4oz. I know for a fact that I hadn't been laying down in those two weeks like I had before. I am now on modified bedrest for uterine irritablity anyway. I am going to start drinking Carnation instant breakfast like I used to since my girls are trying to come early, and I can't barely get any food in anymore. Laying on your LEFT side is especially helpful to get them as much nutrients as possible.

Thanks for the input - I have been on strict bedrest for two months now, so Ive done more laying down than any human could possibly endure. I think I'll try the meal replacement shakes! )
