Adult fever question

Okay so apparently I know nothing about when to worry about fever in adults.  I only remember about children.

My dh came home early from work feeling dizzy.  We have both had colds and he came down with a week and a half ago.  Sat. and Sun. he felt better, but now feels crappy again.

Now he is running a fever of 101.1, even with Tylenol it is only down to 100.3.

Do I need to worry or force him to go to the docs tomorrow?

Re: Adult fever question

  • I wouldn't bother unless it passes 103 personally.

  • I didn't take DH to the doc until he was at 104.  I would keep an eye on it for sure.

Way too cute pic of Em!  Okay I feel much better after hearing that.  Hopefully we wake up tomorrow and he is all better.

    Thanks all.

  • You can do the Tylenol/Motrin thing for adults too...start with Tylenol and two hours later give Motrin then two hours later Tylenol.

Fevers in adults usually are "worry worthy" after 102

  • As long as I don't have any crazy (non-flu like) symptoms, I don't worry unless it's at (an unmedicated) 103 for more than a couple of days. Hope he feels better!
