2nd Trimester

can movement feel like this?

i've been having this sort of pins and needles sensation, like a light buzzing.  could that be movement?  where have you felt the baby around 16+ weeks, really low or closer to your belly button?  i think this is closer to my belly button. (i'm really short waisted and my tummy is growing fast)  i look further along than i am.

Re: can movement feel like this?

  • My doctor told me that the fundal height (how far up your uterus has expanded) is typically half way between your pelvic bone and belly button at 16 weeks. This was true for me and I am also short waisted...so I'd lean towards no...not yet...but who knows? I haven't felt a thing and I'm so ready to! The heartbeat was amazing! And then the ultrasound was even more amazing! But I still feel like "yeah, I'm pregnant" instead of "HOLY CRAP! There's a baby in there!"  It's just kinda surreal...ya know?

  • it's definitely a hard concept to wrap your brain around, i know...it's sinking in though.

  • I wouldn't say pins and needles, really... nor do I think the common description of "bubbles" really fit it either, that's really gas, lol.  From my experience, it's been just like little fluttery bumps.  You cannot mistake it for anything else.  Also, I just felt the movements for the first time this week (17w4d to be exact) and the movements are really just in the lower part of my tummy, well below the belly button (I'm petite, short waisted if it makes a difference).
