This is coming from my dad. He won't say the "C" word. My sister isn't talking to anyone. She's turned her phone off, left work, and won't talk to anyone. I know she's going to have to have surgery, but that's all I could get from my dad.
Prayers, happy thoughts, whatever you've got that you can spare are greatly appreciated.
Re: Sister's biopsy results "suspicious."
I saw your post the other day, and I'm so sorry that you and your family are going through this.
I went through a scare a few years ago with growths on my thyroid. I had to start seeing a surgeon regularly to monitor the growth. I still go in every six months.
On to my point- I did a ton of research during the beginning of my scare and I spent a lot of time talking to my surgeon. The good news, if you can call it that, is that thyroid cancer is one of the least dangerous cancers you can get. If I remember correctly it is the least likely of any cancer to metastasize, and it is very treatable- they usually just remove it and put you on thryoid hormone replacement. My surgeon said that most of the time, no other treatment is necessary. I hope this info helps.
*hugs*
You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Your sister and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.
When I had a thyroid biopsy 10 years ago, I had the same result. Even after the iodine scan, mine still had the same characteristics as a malignant growth. I had the surgery, and it turned out to be benign.
Hopefully it's the same for your sister.
