It's not so bad. It's very common for your arm to be sore for a few days afterwards, since it's given into the muscle. Flu-like symptoms (sniffles, low grade fever, etc) are side effects of the vaccine, but you won't really get the flu from the shot. Good luck!
Nothing to be nervous about. It's basically almost painless (the needles these days are so teeny tiny). You might have some arm soreness for a day or two but that's it...nothing to write home about.
I had to get it for the first time too and it hurt terribly for 2 days and I did feel sick for those 2 days but I guess it's worth it in the long run.. my colds haven't been nearly as bad as others and right now we just can't risk it so I keep telling myself that over and over! Good luck
You will be just fine, I was nervous as well but I finally got my very first flu shot on Wednesday when I was at the OB's office for our regular 4 week checkup. My arm is still soar, but it is nothing we can't handle!!
