So I thought this Christmas would be pretty low key on presents since LO will be too young to open presents, BUT it's looking like I'm out of control. Is anyone else wanting to buy LO a lot for Christmas? I want to buy books, portable DVD for the LONG car ride to gma's, Signing Time DVD's, PBK rocking horse, PBK my first chair, and then college fund, and it's only October. I think I'm going crazy.

Re: Christmas question
Why don't you save some of that for her first birthday! I can't imagine that she will use a rocking horse much before her first birthday, ya know? And we got DS his Pottery Barn my first chair when he turned 1 and he still didn't use it much until he was a little older.
Just an idea!
This year I think we will go crazy on DS since he is going to really get into it for the first time, but for DD I think we will hopefully stay pretty calm and just do a few things.
It's hard to resist buying things for LO! DH and I have it under control, all we have for him so far are books and a couple toys.
The grandparents, on the other hand, are already in all out spoiling mode!
ditto this. A lot of what you've listed makes way more sense for her 1st bday than Christmas. DD didn't get a chair (a faux leather one from Target) until her 2nd Christmas and then she loved it and used it all the time. Before then, I think it would've sat around collecting dust. So scale back while you can. If you want to indulge in some things, go for the books as they will last a while, particularly board books and lift-the-flap ones.

DS -- 3YO
We are getting them an ornament and sun tents for the summer.
Everyone else will probably go bonkers.
