temporary birth control: lea's shield?

Hi there! I just had my Mirena taken out, but my gyno suggested I use a temporary birth control for a few months and get my cycle back to normal before my husband and I try to get pregnant. I have read about Lea's shield online, but saw you couldn't purchase in the states. It looks like you can order it. Has anyone done so?

  • I haven't heard of it either.  Sorry.

  • It's kind of like a sponge, I don't like condoms, not allergic but they do irratate me!
  • Is that like a female condom?

Oh, that happens to me too.  I burn like crazy after sex using a condom.

  • Yea burns horribly! I only want to use this birth control for a few months. I want to be able to track my periods and get ready to get pregnant. I wanted to be on my prenatals for at least 6 months before getting pregnant. But I don't know if I can handle these damn condoms for a couple months! Lea's shield I guess is more of a reusable barrier, but doesn't have to be measured or fitted. I suppose I could always keep using the Today sponge or just spermacide.
