Itchy surgery scars, anyone else?

I broke my arm in March and have an obvious scar on my wrist from the bones needing to be plated.  I also have 3 small scars on my belly from appendicitis in December '08.  All of which have become very very itchy, my wrist being the worst.

Could it be from pregnancy or just a coincidence.

My wrists and belly itch all the time lately and I don't have any scars on them. I asked my doctor about it and he said some itching is normal during pregnancy but you have to be careful and make sure its not hives.
