DS has a virus... I'm terrified

DS has been very fussy since Monday.  At first he was just acting crabby, then he didn't want to eat much (we've been struggling with eating anyways).  By Wednesday morning he wouldn't stop crying and had a low grade fever.  I called the pedi and of course they wanted to see him.  The dr agreed that he's sick so they tested for the flu which came back negative.  So he sent us to the hospital to get labs done to check for a bacterial infection.  His CBC came back with his white count a bit high but still within normal limits.  So, the dr thinks its some sort of virus and we're just doing Motrin and Tylenol for now.  If he still has a temp tomorrow they want to see him.  He mentioned possibly admitting him to be on the safe side since he's clearly sick but don't know what from.  He still had a temp at 8 tonight. 

Going back in the hospital yesterday and seeing DS stuck with needles brought back so many horrible memories.  I held back tears several times.  He doesn't seem to be feeling much better and I'm terrified at what is going to happen if he still has a temp tomorrow.  I just need a little strength to get through this.  I know that if he's sick and needs to be in the hospital, then that's what needs to happen.  But I don't want to go through that again.  I know you ladies will understand.

I'm so sorry, I hope he fells better soon.

I totally understand how you feel about the hospital, I still dread going to the hospital for any reason almost 2 years later.
