SIL called about sending my shower gift

I have my first shower this weekend and I am so excited.  My SIL lives in Houston and is unable to fly in for it.  She left a message on my VM about how she is sorry she can't make it and that she wanted to gift to get to me before Sunday, but it would be $70 to guarantee delivery.  She then was getting choked up telling me that she really wanted to be there.  I started crying too.  I feel so blessed having such wonderful family memebers and to have a SIL I truly love like she was my biological sister.  (There I go again, crying)

Awe that is so sweet!!! I would have her send a picture of the gift and save the $70 since that's a LOT of money to add on top of the gift. I wish I had a wonderful SIL. My brothers gf didn't attend my shower, or RSVP for that matter, not because she couldn't attend, but because it was the weekend after her birthday and she wanted to do something for that. She's a horrible person, for so many reasons beyond the above mentioned, and I just pray he doesn't marry her and make her the SIL from hell! But kudos to you for having such a kind, thoughtful and loving SIL!

I hope she doesn't become a SIL either.  I realize how lucky I am to have her.  We both are audiologists which is very odd since audiology is not a very common career.
