Can anyone tell me why a great deal of my maternity shirts (the hand me downs, not ones I deliberately purchase) have shorter sleeves than need be? I swear! They aren't 3/4" sleeves, they just don't quite meet my wrists but still seem to fit everywhere else. Did I miss something here? Do people just assume all pregnant women have abnormally short arms? I want to say, "Hey people, it's my tummy that's getting bigger not my arms getting shorter!" I think they're trying to mess with my head.
Re: And Furthermore . . . (maternity clothing rant continued)
I just pulled mine out and thought the same thing. I guess the put so much extra material in the waist that they try to make up the difference in the sleeve. IDK
I didn't see yoru previous rant, so I'm going to add one of my own (forgive me if it's already been ranted!)
Why do all my maternity shirts have to be so low cut? It's nearly impossible to find one that the girls aren't trying to pop out of. Just because they're DDs now does NOT mean I want to shove them in the face of every passerby "HEY! LOOK AT MY BOOBS!!!"
That is all.
My previous rant was about maternity pants, but that's a good one too. I hate that!! In an office full of men, that's not a great thing. I'm getting compliments on my shirts from them and it's just ridiculous. I'm having to layer now. Makes me crazy! And why are so many of them so "cutesy"? Just because I'm HAVING a baby doesn't mean I want to dress like one!!
I'm the exact opposite. I am short waisted and the maternity tops are sooooo long on me. I have a t-shirt from Old Navy that totally covers my butt and then some. Why everything looks like a tunic on me I don't know.
I do agree that my pre-pregnancy shirts still fit me better.

It is a massive conspiracy to make you buy maternity camisoles to wear under the shirts.
I had good luck with JC Penney's Duo Maternity line in not showing too much boob when I was pregnant last time (mock wrap around shirts that were sewn at the top so you weren't flashing everyone -- brilliant!). Haven't looked lately to see if they've given in to the low-cut craze.
