Shortyred..

Just so you know, I totally stalk you sometimes. >.< Lol, kidding, but I was looking at your post on Darby. I wanted to weigh in. I think it's a GREAT name, for a girl OR a boy! I l-o-v-e it. :D

As a matter of fact, I got Bun to consider it for our boy name for 2.3 seconds...before he came resolutely back to Jack. Crying

I like Finley too though...also, for a girl or a boy. You have such good name taste! lol

Re: Shortyred..

  • Butting in. I LOVE the name Darby but I had a little girl in my class who I was super attached to named Darby.

  • Murfy! I know some of us were wonderin' about you earlier. How're you doing?
  • Haha, stalk away!

I talked to DH and he loves it for a boy or girl. So now we can actually call our baby by name... we just can't use the him/her/he/she words. He's a little worried that we're going to slip in front of someone (we're not telling anyone), but I'm sure we'll be fine.

I do like Finley... it just didn't sound right with our last name IMO. And I'd probably always call him Finn - and I hate using names that have nicknames... but that's just me. And DH wasn't totally sold on it, and that made me feel bad.

Plus, have you ever liked one name more than the other, so you secretly want your baby to be that sex just so you can use the better name? That was me. Plus, I considered the masculine side of Darby.

Yay! I'm going to give birth to a Darby (Hugh or Elizabeth) in a few months!!

::refrains from hyperventilating at the idea of EDD's proximity to today's date::?

  • Hehe! I know name anxiety is giving us trouble. We are settled on a girl name, but a boy name? Good lord. I come up with suggestions out the wazoo.

    Bun likes Jack.

O-o I want to kick him. Lol. I am hoping for a girl just to get past the name thing. So I feel ya.

I also think I would end up calling a "Finley" Finn. Of course, Finn is on my boy's list, so yeah. I like the name. But Bun thinks it's too weird. O_O Please, let me not have a boy just so I won't have another John, Jack, or Michael.

So I've totally been hoping for a boy just based on the fact that we can't agree on a girl name and have been settled on our boy name since before we were engaged! The only problem now is that one of my coworkers sons has the same name and I don't want her to think we got the idea from her, it's actually my husband's name suggestion.

  • You should totally talk him into Finn. I like it a ton, but it doesn't sound right alone with our last name. At least you still have time!
  • We are so lucky. Bun's last name is Morris. (Btw, even if we were married, I would not take Bun's last name, because I plan to be a PhD)

Pretty much nothing sounds bad with Morris.

Our girl name is Andrea Kieran Morris. I like it. I don't absolutely love it...but it's one of those things. Andrea was my mom's name, Kieran is Kevin's favorite name, so we made it work.

I wish we could do the same with a boy. Too bad no one who's dead has a better name than "Bert" or "Foy". >.<

    *knows that was tacky. Sorry*

  • Oh, I know plenty of male Andreas........ You can totally do it. Wink

Maybe you could do Andre. Or Andrew. I was actually thinking about the name Andrew earlier today.

    How about Zach?

    Hehehehe....?

  • Lol, If I named a little boy Andrea, here in central Texas, not only would my family kill me, but I'm pretty sure Bun would leave my a$$ and take my kid, for emotional abuse. :P

I am pushing for Finn, Graham, Rowan, Sawyer, or Liam. >.< I have a feeling I will lose.

At least my vag has veto power. Lol.
