2nd Trimester

Maybe a stupid question, but...

is there a low temperature we should worry about?  I know obviously that a high temperature usually means that your body is fighting some sort of infection and that we should worry if it gets over a 100.  But can it work in reverse, too?  I've been feeling like crud all week and although I had a slight fever at first, my temperature has been lower than it normally is.  So does a lower temperature mean anything?

  • I think it depends on your average. Go on WebMD and look up hypothermia (as that is what that is called). It'll say what it needs to fall below to qualify. It's pretty low though.

  • Nah - you can google hypothermia to see what temps those run, but the low temps that stem from cold viruses aren't a big deal.  Just stay hydrated and get rest!

  • Thank you ladies.  I don't think I have hypothermia.  It's cold out, but not that cold.  Smile

My temp is less than a degree lower than it normally is, it just got me thinking.

  • I am sure you don't have hypothermia but it only has to be in the 50's for you to get it.
