Glucose test tomorrow....any tips?

Hey girls!  I have my glucose test tomorrow morning at 10am.  I am so not looking forward to drinking that nasty stuff!  Should I eat anything before I go?  Should I avoid anything with sugar in it for tonight & tomorrow?  Thanks for any advice!!

  • Just do what you'd normally do. If you have GD, you want to know it, not try to "trick" the test.

  • I was told that even if you don't have GD, if you have too much sugar in the morning, and then drink all that sugar for the test, you may fail. They advised me to fast the night before because if you have it, fasting will not make a difference.

  • The drink is really not bad at all!! I actually kinda liked the orange flavored one, lol. GL!

  • Thanks girls!  Obviously I want to know if I have it, but I don't want to fail just because I had too much sugar prior, ya know?  LOL!  Well, hope all goes well!  Thanks again!

  • put your drink in the fridge, and my office said you can pour it over ice if you think it will help you get the drink down.
  • I was told nothing to eat or drink after midnight before my test.

Really? Wouldn't the ice dilute the drink if it happens to melt??

  • They gave me my drink at my 24w appt.  They suggested I chill it and the nurse said I could have it over ice if I wanted.  I chilled it but skipped the ice...even if it dilutes it, it's still the same amount of sugar so I don't think it should matter.

This! I got mine at my 24 week appointment as well and will just take it before I go to my next appointment.
