Talk to me about BF'ing, AF and fertility...

Ok so I have heard things like you arent fertile or as fertile while you BF and you may not have AF.

So I am 4 weeks out of delivery and BF'ing, when do I expect AF to return? Also, I have never been on BC, but am now a little nervous that I could get pg since I have had Sara, cant decide if I trust our old method in conjunction with BF'ing or if I should start BC. Any rec for types of BC? I am sooooo cluless. TIA!

You CAN get PG while BFing, even if you don't get AF. ?Don't believe anyone who tells you otherwise.

Whether or not AF returns varies from person to person. ?DS is almost 9 months old, and I'm BFing, and AF has not yet returned. ?Not going to lie, it is a HUGE perk to BFing for me!

There's a "mini-pill" (progesterone only) that you can take while BFing. ?I took it for 6 months or so, but then I lost my pills, can't find them, and I'm too cheap to pay for them out of pocket. ?Plus, I'm getting ready to wean and the mini-pill is no longer effective once you wean. ?

pretty much this!  I just got the mini pill today though.  I have a friend who is pg again with a 10 month old and she got pg while BF.

Talk to me about this minipill...is the main option when BF'ing? Are other BC too strong? I have my appt in a week and a half so I wont to know what to ask. TIA!

i got an IUD, the mirena.  I really like it although now I wish that I could have a woops pregnancy, and the IUD kind of takes away the control for that.  But if you don't want to get pregnant soon then it's a good way to go.

Mini-pill or an IUD are the two most common options, I think. ?Condoms are always an option, I guess (though I hate them personally). ?Other bc pills aren't typically prescribed while BFing because they can decrease supply.?

There's no telling. ?My cousin got pregnant at 6 weeks postpartum while breastfeeding. ?I got my AF at 6 months EBF.

I've been BF for the last 11 months, never got AF and am now 5 weeks pregnant. So it can definitely happen.
