I have scheduled three "new OB" (8 week) appts and we finally got to go to one! We did have an u/s last week just to check that everything was ok (lost LO #1 at 7w4d) so I did get to see baby last week, but this was so different. Going over our family histories, getting the packet, and discussing genetic testing made it seem so much more real--like I'm really actually pregnant and LO is doing OK! She did an u/s and it was shocking how much it's changed in a week. Last week LO looked like a seahorse, this time we could actually see a head and body and little nubs for hands and feet. It looks more like a peanut now, but seeing a clear picture of its head was crazy!!!
She had me get a seasonal flu shot--which made me a little nervous. Is 8 weeks too early for that? DH thinks I'm crazy to be paranoid and said, "She's an OB!!! She knows how far along you are, she wouldn't have suggested it if it weren't safe!" I know he's right, but I just want this one to work out sooooo badly. I don't think I can take another m/c. OK, vent over...feel free to share flu shot knowledge.
Re: Finally made it to a "new OB" appt!
Got my flu shot last week. You'll be just fine, and now you and your little bean are protected. (Note: take two weeks or something to take effect, so wash your hands and stay away from germy-looking people.)
I'm so glad your appointments are going well, and that LO is doing so great.
OK, thank you! Sometimes you just need to hear it from someone else, you know? I am a teacher, so I am surrounded by cute little germs all day. I am hand washing and hand gelling a lot!
How are you doing? I think you had an appt. yesterday? How did it go? I didn't get a chance to get on.
Went okay. Saw gestational and yolk sacs. We are off on our days - the tech thinks we O'd almost a week late, assuming we are still growing in there. (I have adjusted the ticker accordingly). Go back next week for another, and hopefully will see a HB.
I'm glad you got the shot if you are around kids all day. Love them, but they are just carriers of all things disease. Going for H1N1? FWIW, my doc totally vouches for it as do the two OBs in the family.
All we saw was gestational and yolk sacs at 5 weeks. Did you chart? That could show if you o'd late. There's also the possibility it implanted late too. I know this will be a long week, but it will go by and you'll get some answers next week. I think that you'll get good news.
I do plan on getting H1N1. It's not in our OB office yet, and they said they are prioritizing 3rd tri patients on down. So it will be awhile until I get it.
