Not that I have any experience whatsoever, but it seems like it shouldn't make a difference. You're going to feel it on the inside anyway, so if you have a little extra on the outside, it shouldn't matter, right?
I agree with Loves - I was on the thinner side before pregnancy (I have Crohn's disease and struggle to put weight on not pregnant)...BUT since I have an anterior placenta - I didn't feel movement for a while and even now I feel muffled movements cause of the placenta...You will feel her soon So I believe you will feel it inside very soon!

Well I am not ubber thin or full figured but any extra weight I have is in my belly area and I have been wondering the same thing.
My Peri said I should be experiancing small "twinges" in there within the next couple of weeks... so now every slight "something" I feel I have to stop, drop everything and concentrate... only to realize that its not her yet.
I started feeling some flutters around 18-19 weeks. It wasn't until 23 weeks that I could really feel them on the outside. Hang in there and be patient.
I have extra cuddlyness... and I carry most of my extra weight in my belly especially. I started feeling little twinges in between 13 and 14 weeks, but my real kicks started at 18w1d. Dh felt her around 20 weeks one time, and just felt her again last night. So, it may be longer for DH, but I don't think it will make a difference for you. Didn't for me at least! I've seen plenty of teeny girls on here complaining that they still don't feel anything at 23 weeks... I'm starting to think the extra cushion helps!

With my first pregnancy, I felt movement at 22 weeks. Real movement. I'm sure I felt the flutters but didn't realize what they were. At 22 weeks I was certain it was baby. I am a full figured mama, and I also had an anterior placenta which didn't help things.
It might take longer to start feeling movement, but eventually you'll feel the same movement as everyone else. We never saw feet or hands like some people say they see, but we did watch my belly move all by itself and got HUGE kicks starting at around 26 weeks. Didn't even remember that I didn't feel anything for the first 1/2.

I am bigger and I found out only recently that the placenta is anterior. I felt movement at 18wks once and then not again til about 21 weeks and then it was frequent.
1st pregnancy: m/c began 1/12/09 d&c 1/13/09 8wks. Baby stopped growing at about 6wks.
I really started to feel internal movement on a regular basis at 18 weeks or so. I may have felt something as early as 17 weeks but I'm just not sure. I assume it will be a while before anyone can feel movement from the outside. I carry my weight very low on my tummy so I have a little pot belly where the baby is sitting.
You're still a bit early for movement. I am overweight, but I started to feel consistent and definite movement by week 18. I totally missed the twinges, and went to feel the full-on kicks. Your size won't hinder you. It might take longer for your DH and others to feel from the outside, though.
I felt twinges about 17-18 weeks, but didn't feel full on kicks until 22 weeks and it still is not super regular at 25 weeks! I feel movement every day, but not any kind of pattern or regularity to them.

Our family is complete!
I felt movement inside pretty early, but not on the outside until 24/25 weeks thanks to my extra padding!
16 - 18 weeks seems to be where most people start feeling movement, so hang in there, should be any day now!
