I am so unsure...he is taking 7-8 oz bottles and at times still seems hungry. What did you ladies do? started solids at the adjusted or actual age?
Birth 2lbs 10oz 15in long (4/28 )
2months 2weeks 6lbs 4oz (discharge day ! )
3 months 8lbs 6oz (due date 7/25 )
**1 years old 19lbs**
**2 years old 25lbs 33 inches tall**
Sounds like he might be ready for some solids. With Aubrey we've been closer to her actual age for the feeding schedule. It was clear she was ready. She's done much better with solids than she ever has with her bottle. She loves them!
We waited until he was 6 months adjusted - sure he was drinking tons of formula and showing signs of readiness before that but we (my husband, myself, our ped., and the nutritionist) still thought it was best to wait because acting ready didn't mean his digestive system was. I'm glad we waited :-)
Our pedi was ok with us starting solids at 6 months actual. They seemed ready by then and when we started they did great. We've moved right along really smoothly. How many bottles is he taking? Ours were getting 5 8oz. bottles, but were never finishing them. We ended up going down to 4 bottles and adding meals in between and now they take the 8oz. most of the time.
Katie is just about your LO's age. Our pedi told us that we're starting solids based on actual age. We've been doing cereal for a bit now (our pedi puts babies on cereal at 4-4.5 mos) and we're getting ready to start veggies this weekend. Talk to your pedi and see what they reccomend.
