Favorite toys for your crawler/stander/pre-walker?

DS (really me) is getting bored with some of his toys. I'm looking to get some new ones that won't cost a ton and that he will get some use out of. Right now we have rattles, teethers, peekaboo blocks, ring stacker, toy telephone, a FP roll around animal playground, stuffed animals, board books etc. Mostly small toys. I want to get an activity table but not sure what else. What do you recommend??

  • If hes crawling anything that he can push on his hands and knees were big with AT. Like cars etc.

Once he started pulling up he liked the leap frong table then the stand behind walker was next. He would race around the kitchen pushing that thing. To this day he loves to push stuff.

  • We have the Leap Frog Learning Table and we also have a Baby Einstein Discovery Center and also the Fisher Price Laugh and Learn House. Those are all larger toys. My mom got her the V-Tech Ball and Fisher Price Crawl along drum roller.

  • Ditto anything he can push.  Eli has a grocery cart and an alphabet train that he loves, even now.  And of course trucks and things like that.  Anything with wheels really.

  • Leap Frog Table and the Laugh and Learn Kitchen are two of her favorite things to play on. She also has a shopping cart walker that she can't walk with yet, but she still loves to play with it.

  • Definitely get the Leap Frop Learn & Groove table - there are usually lots of them on craigslist too.  Liam loooooved that from about 4 months until we had to return it to the family we borrowed it from at about a year, and he was still loving it then.

Liam also has this Tonka push and ride truck that he got when he was 7 months old.  He still plays with it.  He loves to sit on it and also to push it around.  Make sure you get the version with the steering wheel (the one at TRU doesn't have the steering wheel) and that is the best part because it makes all kinds of truck sounds that he loves.  BTW we didn't pay anywhere near $75 for it, it was like $35 - I don't know why amazon's pricing gets wonky sometimes.

  • Ditto all of the things the pps said.

Around that age DD became obsessed with a tunnel at the Museum of Life & Science. I came home and found a big cardboard box, put it between 2 dining room chairs... at 26 months she is still playing with that box. I did decorate the inside with some stickers. Super cheap and super fun!

  • My son loved the FP shopping cart at that age.  He still plays with it sometimes.
