Cradle mattress

I have a family cradle that I am planning on using for LO.  However it does not have any sort of a mattress in it right now and I'm wondering what I should do.  My mom suggested just buying a piece of foam...do you think this is okay?

We bought ours from Babies R Us.  However, ABaby.com also sells them & we were going to purchase from there if we hadn't of lucked out at BRU.

Yup. BRU has them. Im pretty sure the sheets for the cradles are in w/ the mattresses too.

I don't think the family one I have is a standard size (getting read to set it up/measure the dimensions inside) so I'm planning on getting a piece of foam custom  cut to use.
