Pregnant after a Loss

registering for baby bottles

Hi Ladies,

I am not sur eif i am asking this question on the right board, but since I mainly posted and lurk here, I felt the most comfortable to ask here.

I am so confused over bottles. My top 3 picks are Avent, Dr. Browns and Born Free. I was leaning towards Avent, since they seem easier to clean, but I am not sure. What ar eyou ladies picking and why?

 Thank you!!!

Re: registering for baby bottles

  • We had Dr Brown's with DS- we really liked them and DS never spit up a lot.  But they DO have extra parts to clean.

We are using Dr Brown's this time again, but I also picked up some green to grow bottles and I am going to buy a few born free to mix it up.

  • Someone on 0-6 months recommened that I register for one of each bottle that I am considering because the baby will decide what it likes.  I ended up registering for the two pack in 3 or 4 different brands.  Then I plan to go out and buy more of which ever one LO likes.
  • I originally registered for Dr Brown's bottles, and decided after a week that they weren't worth the trouble. Too much work when I was 1/2 asleep in the middle of the night. So I switched over to Playtex dropins. DD had no trouble with gas/spitup after that, and her reflux got better as well.

  • I highly suggest buying a few in each brand. Your baby will be the decider. DD hated avent and born free. She loved playtex drop ins!

  • I registered for Dr. Browns and Avents because I heard that babies might not like certain bottles.  I would just go with which bottle style you like best and then register for different brands of nipples in case your LO doesn't like a certain brand.

  • My friend (who BF's) said she (and most of her friends) had alot of trouble with Avent leaking.. she also likes the ease of the drop ins and not having to wash as much..

We just did our registry on the weekend and picked some various brands to try on the same advise that the baby will be the one to decide.  I intend to BF exclusivley till I have to return to work, but did register for some Dr.Browns, Born Free and some other brand that has a cozie on them... All glass too since I'd like to stay away from plastic in general..I did stay away from the Avent since she told me about the leaking issue, and I don't want to have to continue to buy those 'drop in' things either (what a waste of $$ and added to the landfills).. but I'm sure once LO gets here, we'll have to do what ever will work.. but that is where i'm at at this point!  Hope this helps!

  • I registered for Avent, but plan on buying some Playtex ones as well.

  • I went with the Avent.  I have a few friends that used Dr. Browns and said the clean up was difficult.  I also have friends who used Avent and said they really like them.  So that is what I registered for.
