Marley and Me was not a good choice

I was at my mom's this weekend and she decided to pop in a movie...Marley and Me. Yeah if you haven't seen that movie, don't. Seriously. It was ok for about the first half hour or so, then Jennifer Aniston has a m/c and she comes home to her dog who just knows that something is wrong....OMG I'm going to cry NOW just thinking about it. My poor dad was sitting there between two extremely emotional women: my mom bawling because we just put down our lab Buster in June, and me bawling because when I lost the twins in April Buster acted the same way as Marley. My dad was sweet tho, just held our hands while we got it all out. Needless to say, next time my mom decides to pop in a movie on a Saturday afternoon, I'm gonig to have to insist on no m/c's and no dog deaths. Ugh!

It def was a tearjerker...even my DH dropped a tear or two.

My DH left the room! He said "Why should I watch this movie? We already lived it" and went to get a beer. He hid in the basement till it was over. Poor guy.

I still can't bring myself to watch the movie let alone read the book! I've been so hormonal that I know I'll be a giant mess watching and reading this! I'll wait a while before doing so!

I have the movie on DVD. I watch it whenever I feel like I need a good cry.

I read the book before seeing the movie.  I had lost my first baby about 2 months before I read the book and remember just bawling when I got to that part. By the time I saw the movie I was pregnant again and didn't think it would bother me as much... but it definitely did.  Actually DH hasn't seen it and it was on HBO last night and I turned it on and then told him we had to turn to another station for 5 minutes.  Even just explaining to him why made me tear up.  Her situation in the story was just too simiarl to mine... down to the timing of it and everything.

Oh God, yes. I was warned previously. Our dog died in November and we lost our first baby in January and there's no WAY I'm going to do that to myself.

Uh I woke up at 4 am today and couldn't sleep, so I decided to watch this movie off of HBO on demand.  Yeah, NOT a good choice.  I cried so hard, and then afterwards I felt depressed for like two hours.  I should have known better...
