Pregnant after a Loss

Do you sleep with a specialty pillow?

I've seen and heard a lot about these funky pregnancy pillows.  Do you have one?  If so, which?  I just use a plain body pillow now but I'm open to other options. I can still sleep on my stomach for now, but I know I won't much longer. It's going to take a pretty special pillow to help me learn to sleep on my side.  I've slept on my tummy from the day I was born.

Re: Do you sleep with a specialty pillow?

  • I've never wanted to spend the money on a specialty pillow so I just use regular ones. However, a regular sized pillow won't cut it- I just started sleeping with an extra long and fairly firm pillow that I "borrowed" from DH's family's lake house. I think it's the same size as some of the pregnancy pillows I've seen, and I'm sure it's less expensive. GL to you- I'm also a tummy sleeper, so I know how frustrating it is to have to find new positions!

  • I don't currently but with my DD I bought a snoogle.  My mom made a cover for it that was flannel on one side and cotton on the other.  I seriously loved that thing so much.  It's like I was obsessed with it!!!!!  It was totally worth it.

They sell those at BRU right?

  • Right now,  I still use a regular pillow, but that's not going to be enough soon.  I've tried to find a body pillow, but I can't find any!  Weird, right?  I was thinking of getting a snoogle or something.
  • I use a body pillow.  I love it, but between the pillow and my cats sleeping with me it gets very hard sometimes getting out of the bed to use the bathroom at night!

  • I had 2 different body pillows before my snoogle and it didn't do it for me!  Yes, I think they are still at BRU and even Target (maybe only online though).

Ok I have this problem too!!  I try to sleep on my left side, and I sleep on the left side of the bed.  So the body pillow is on the left edge of the bed blocking me in.  It's an act of congress getting out of bed to pee - and I am getting up every night now to pee!!  Plus one of our dogs sleeps in the bed, so he's usually stolen my spot by the time I get back to bed.  lol

  • I use something like a snoogle, but it's called a snoozer... I love it!  DH bought it for me and I hug it all night!

  • Honestly I sleep with my couch cushions! They are so soft and I love that I can position each pillow any way I'd like. Sometimes I'll even put one by my hips and one by my chest and semi sleep on my stomach! So comfy...

  • I bought a body pillow because I will only be pregnant for a short amount of time, and after I don't want to be stuck with some weird looking pillow I have to find a home for.  The body pillow matches our bedding.
  • I had a body pillow and just invested in a new microfiber cover that was on sale at BB&B. It has made a big difference and as often as I get up to pee, I don't think I would've liked tangoing with a snuggy.

  • I have the bobby half pillow thingy and love it, it has been my saving grace. I also was a stomach sleeper and it kind of helps me "fake" a stomach position. I did try my friends full bobby one and didn't like it at all, too much effort to move in the middle of the night.

I started using mine at around 16 wks.

  • I bought the Boppy one at BRU. It was good at first, but I've only had it for about 6 weeks and its very lumpy and flat in places already.  I'm disappointed.
  • I have this one: https://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2304581

I really like it.  It's easy enough for me to be able to roll from side to side with because it's not huge.  Sometimes I even wedge it behind my back so I can sneak in a little half on my back sleeping.
