How much do you spend on bday party?

About how much do you spend on your kid's bday party including food, decorations, favors etc? We are having James' party tomorrow and I was just thinking about all of the stuff we have bought for it and am wondering if we went overboard which is entirely possible or if little kid's birthday parties usually get pricey. Thanks!

We just spent around $650 for my DD's 5th birthday...but that's because we had 40 kids & rented out a play gym place.  Normally we spend more like $250-$350.

It's freaking pricey.

Decorations, plates, napkins, etc usually run me about $150-200.

Then food and booze --- depending on what we do for food --- about $200-300.

Favors --- $100 (roughly)

Pinata --- $40-50 (pinata and candy)

And this one we are having the critter caravan come so that's another $200.  It usually is about $500-800 when all is said and done.

yes, it is pricey but we do tend to overbuy. In Aug we had dd's 3rd bday. We rented a jump house for 250.00, catered food was 300, made some other foods (dips, meatballs, etc), drinks, beer, ice was another 200, gifts for kids to give out 50, paper items and decorations were 100, sheet cake was 40 and then some other incidentials. I would say her parties are between 800-1000 easily. I wouldn't change a thing...we also have about 50 people at her parties.

depends on what you do. I do simple pizza and cake.  Get paper products and gift bag stuff on sale.  Sam's club cake.  No decorations other than a balloon bouquet, I do my own handmade invites.

so its usually no more than 100.00-150.00

We usually have about 15 to 25 people, including kids.  On top of about $200 we spend in gifts from us, we spend as much on food and drinks - which includes paper plates, napkins, etc.  Oh, and the alcohol.  I am one of the few trash that drinks at her kids birthday parties.

275 princess tea party at a local venue (for 12 kids)

35 cake

35 for the pinata and candy

60 dollars for supplies, favors and invites (i bought seperate invites for DDs class) and one of the favors came w the party

80 gift

DS- this year

177 for food (but that included some things for just the house)

90 on Bolt supplies/pinata

40 on other supplies and candy

35 cake

24 on his birthday shirt

65 on his present
