Pregnant after a Loss

Brown tinged CM

I'm trying not to freak out right now, but I just went to the bathroom and when I wiped I noticed mixed in with the CM was spots of light brown/pinkish colored CM.  We just saw the baby and heartbeat on Thursday.  I'm hoping it's just old blood from the internal ultrasound and tests they did but I'm scared.  This is pretty normal, right?

Re: Brown tinged CM

  • It's very likely it is old blood that got shaken loose from your internal u/s.  Brown blood is old blood!

    Spotting is SO scary!

  • Yes, totally normal! Especially since you had your transvaginal u/s the other day.  Remember brown = old blood which is a good sign.  To ease your mind drink a bunch of water and put your feet up the rest of the weekend.

    Much Love~

  • Probably from the internal. They say you can have spotting 24-48 hours after an internal. Try stay calm hun.

  • I'm trying.  Thanks ladies.  I will drink a bunch of water and keep my feet up.

  • I'm sure you're just fine, but that would freak me out too. It's one of the reasons DH isn't getting any these days. I told him I am not emotionally in a place where I could handle spotting after sex.

Water and feet up sounds like a great idea; maybe some brownies should be thrown in, you know, for good measure. Can't be too careful.

  • Ooooh, how about a brownie sundae with hot fudge?  That is definitely a necessity!

  • I spotted daily for 3 weeks with this pregnancy in the first trimester. Some of my spotting was very dark brown, almost black and my little one is doing awesome. I have heard that 20% of all pregnancies have some spotting. Keep us updated!
