What part of IT'S ONE BABY I HAD FOUR ULTRASOUNDS does she not understand? 

I can't believe I'm 6 months pregnant and my MIL is still asking me this question!!! Last night she asked how my last OB appointment went and asked, "did they find another baby in there?" I swear to god she asks me this about once a month. 

I ask you, how can a pregnant woman hear this and not feel like she is being told she's really big???

Arrrrgh. I complained to my H about it later and he said, "oh, she's just making the joke about how she wants one of the babies." I'm like, noooo, not really, she has made that joke once, but I have heard that I could be having twins at least a half dozen other times! I am seriously going to scream if she says it one more time. My H should really do the world a favor and warn her that I'm close to blowing my top on this "joke."

My SIL says this every time she sees me.  It's SO annoying!  And you know what?  The only people who have said this to me have been WOMEN who have HAD CHILDREN.  Do they forget how annoying it is to hear sh!t like that???

Ugh that is SO annoying especially since its your MIL saying it - I hear it ALL the time from people and it was REALLY bad at my last job with one particular nurse. I think you look gorgeous and perfect for one baby!! Hang in there.

DH really didn't get why I was annoyed at all. I had to tell him, "Just trust me, you don't say that to a pregnant woman, ever, unless you KNOW she is having twins."

That is incredibly annoying and unsupportive. Tell DH to talk to his mom, for your sake. Sorry about that hon, that would piss me off too.

Ibis.. it's time you just said something back to her to make a point.. You know put her in her place... like.. "you know.. you've said this to me a half dozen times or so now and each time i've told you there is only one baby in there. You may say it as a joke, but really now you're just hurting my feelings about the size I am carrying this baby, so if you wouldn't mention it again, I'd really appreciate it"... I think she'd be gob smacked and probably wont mention it again... but that is just me... I'm not gonna take $hit from anyone..

I should say something, but I don't know what. If I told her she was hurting my feelings she would probably burst into tears and make a big scene. Bleh.

Annoying!!!!  My mother makes comments like thatall the time and it drives me crazy!  She even posted something on her Facebook update about believing it is more than one (ummm...hate to break it to you, Mom, but I have had three ultrasounds and there is JUST ONE).  When I mention the whole multiple ultrasounds, her response is that the other one is just hiding. The stupid part is I haven't seen her since 9 weeks pregnant and she still makes these comments.

Why do people feel the need to ask this over and over even after knowing there is only ONE in there.

Dh jokes that he's hoping that we have another one hiding in the there. But he says it jokingly and I know he isn't serious.
