Fetal Pole on Ultrasound?

OK, so here is the deal - I should be 5 weeks, 4 or 5 days pregnant.  My hcg was good this week, it doubled like it should.  My ultrasound showed no fetal pole, and only a gestational sac.  Have others had to wait longer before the fetal pole, etc. could be viewed on trans vag ultrasound?  I appreciate any thoughts!

All you should see this week is a gestational sac with a little yolk sac inside of it. I didn't have an u/s at 6 weeks, but at 7w2d we saw the fetal pole and heartbeat.

Forgot to mention: at 5w2d all we saw was the gestional sac and the little yolk sac. My OB said that's all you should see at this point. I don't know why they told you there should be a fetal pole.

Yes See my signy.  I didn't see a HB till 7 weeks 2 days.  The earlist i have ever seen any one see a HB was like 5 Week 5 Days.  I

Seeing a gestational sac is good for 5w 4/5 d. And if you go in next week you should see a fetal pole, with a possible heartbeat (the heart start sometime during week 6.) Try to be strong. I am sure everything is ok.

Whenever I have had an u/s in the 5 week marker all you can see is a GS.

I had my first u/s at 5w5d and didn't see a fetal pole.  We had an ultrasound last week at 7w6d and saw a little heart beating away!  I wouldn't worry too much yet!

I had the same thing happen to me. I had an ultrasound at 5 weeks 2 days and there was just a sac, but 2 weeks later I was 7 weeks 6 days and saw a beautiful heartbeat. Try not to worry! You are seeing what you are suppose to be seeing at this point. Best of luck!

My doctor strongly advised against coming in before 8  weeks because he said its usually just a source of stress when its not needed. I think this is exactly where you need to be for where you're at.
