I have had 2 healthy pregnancies/babies, then I had a miscarriage at 14 weeks, soon followed by a chem pregnancy at 5 weeks. Now, I am 6 weeks along with pregnancy #5 with nice high beta levels and we had an ultrasound yesterday and saw the heartbeat!
I only saw the tech, not the Dr., but this morning the nurse called and put me on Progesterone suppositories to decrease the risk of another miscarriage.
I see my Dr next week, but in the meantime, please tell me everything you know...
thanks ladies!

Re: please tell me about progesterone
I took prometrium orally..200mg twice a day until 13 weeks. My proestrogen level was 11 @ 5 weeks is the reason they put me on it. 2 weeks later it was 56. It supplements the baby until the placenta is in place..usually through the 1st trimester. It made me tired in the day and I had to take a nap and at night it made me almost drunk! But I am 16 weeks now..off the pills 3 or 4 weeks now.
I hope this helps. Congrats and wishing you a happy and healthy 9 months!
The most important thing I know is that I am farther along then I have ever been
In my opinion it took a little getting use to (well I guess still not use to it) but you will get a discharge so get stock in panty liners. Also, you will run to the restroom 10 times a day panicing that you are bleeding and your not.
Good Luck to you!
Ditto on this, I always was running to the bathroom thinking I would see blood I felt so much goop coming out. Sorry but they get very leaky some days! Wear panty liners! I was on them til 12 wks. I used one at night then set my alarm for an hour before I had to get up for work and put one in then slept for another hour. They worked for me! GL and congrats!
I was never tested for low progesterone. It was my plan for "next time" I got pregnant. I took it 3 DPO until 13w3d. It seems to have made the difference for me this time. ::Knocks on wood::: I took it orally at bedtime - 200 mg I believe. I was very sleepy first tri. Although I am still very sleepy, but getting a little better.
Good luck!
My progesterone was right on the cut-off, so my taking prometrium was probably more a precaution than anything else, but I wasn't taking any chances. I took 200mg orally at night. It made me a bit sleepy but that was no problem as I was going to bed anyway. They make you a bit more bloated and maybe gain a few extra pounds, but you're going to gain weight anyway, so eh. I never really had much nausea or anything with them.
Good luck to you!
