She likes to bring in cakes for everyone's birthdays, and everyone always oohs and aahs over how good her cakes are. She'll always make a statement like, "Yep this is a good one" or "No, I just knew that this cake wasn't a good one." She goes on and on about how she just "knows" if she makes a good cake or not and all this other business about how she's learned it takes a certain "touch" to make a good cake.
Today is my boss' birthday and of course, co-worker brings in a cake. I said, "That cake is good. You know, I've been meaning to ask you for the recipe for some time now, and I keep forgetting." Guess what? She makes it from a mix! For me, a cake from a mix pretty much turns out the same way every time, and I wouldn't be going on and on about my cakes if I made them from a mix. I just thought that was so strange.
Re: I do not get this about my co-worker (very silly and petty)
That is hilarious!!!
My cakes are sooo delicious, courtesy of funfetti
Bwaaaahaaaaaaa!!!! Who brags about a cake they made from a box? Bwaaaaahhhhhhaaaaaa!
I think my mouth actually fell open for a few seconds! I had to recover quickly and said something like, "Oh wow...I couldn't even tell."
Funny! I can't say that I know of anyone who brags about making a boxed cake. Is she looking for the attention?
As long as the cakes are edible I guess that's the main thing.
Haaaaaaaaaaaaaa hahaaaaa ha!!!!
