Preemies

RSV shots was my "security" but they have been denied!

So I found out that RSV season starts November 1st not October as 1st as my pedi told me...so that means Kevin will be 6months and 10 days by the start of RSV. He no longer qualifies because he will be over 6 months old. I was worried before, but I found some security because I thought he would be getting the shots.

Now I'm just so scared and don't want to venture beyond my house. I just worry that he'll get sick and we'll be back in the hospital. I am struggling to determine what is best/safe for him. I am such a germaphobic now and I feel bad bc I know stressing about this is not making me a fun person.

it's hard  because no one IRL life understands....even DH thinks I'm crazy.

I guess I just need to vent.

  • I hear you!!  We were denied too!

  • I am scared out of my mind of being denied...we find out on Monday I think!  BTW, my DH thinks I am certifiable as well.  He even made fun of me for putting the "my tiny hands" stop sign on DS's carrier.  He just doesn't get it..
  • We were denied too, but I wasn't surprised at all based on last years recommendations.  Our guys are almost 7.5 months old, not in daycare, no one smokes at home, etc.  Unfortunately I work with children birth-3, but I strip when I come in the door and wash up before going anywhere near the babies.  I hope with stringent house arrest and good hygiene practices they will stay healthy, but it is nerve wracking.  I just put a notice out on our blog about precautions and the fact that they were denied means will be hermits for the winter.

Sorry to hear your dc's got denied the shots.  When I lost my job back in December,  DS had been on my insurance plan & we were denied from getting an individual health  plan due to DS had been getting the RSV shotsTongue Tied  In fact due to he got the RSV shots we are not eligable to get a private plan for DS for 2 years so they can make sure he remains healthy.  Thank goodness we were able to get on DH's plan but it is costing us $200 more a month than it would have if we had gotten an individual plan. Can you tell I am not a fan of insurance companies!
