spotting? (tmi)

this morning I had a light brown colored discharge when I used the bathroom....is this what is called spotting?  Should I call my doctor?  (I'm only like 4 or 5 weeks pregnant)....is this normal?

Call your doctor.

I was spotting yesterday and called. They brought me in for bloodwork and today I'm going to repeat bloodwork and have an ultrasound.

My OB told me yesterday that as long as it is brown it is fine, it's when it's red that they get concerned, but I would call anyway just in case.

i spotted several times in the early weeks. Dr. said unless i start cramping bad and having enough blood to fill a pad, to not worry.

Brown or pink spotting with little to no cramping is completely normal the entire 1st tri.  With #1, I had spotting from 7-8 weeks and also from about 10-12 weeks.  It's scary, but normal.  I've already had light spotting with this one yesterday, but it was very light and nothing so far today so I'm trying not to worry.  With both, I just told my doc at the next appt, but if it makes you feel better to call, then call.  That's what they're there for!
