Poll: What was your first baby-related purchase after learning you were pregnant?

While driving home from work the day after I learned that I was pregnant, I stopped at the baby store and picked up a few books (including "What to Expect..." and some baby books) and some stuffed animals. However - I did check out the strollers, bibs, furniture, toys, and everything else in the store! I stopped myself there since it's a little too early to get carried away. I was just wondering if anyone else had a similar experience!

I still can't bring myself to by anything for the baby just yet.

I cannot help myself, I have been crazy buying cute little clothes. Gender neutral things are tricky to find. I CANNOT wait to find out the sex, then watch out, I will be burning a hole in my wallet ;-)

The day we found out we bought a cute little hand knit hat for the baby. But DH bought me a baby name book over a year ago, before we were married or trying :-)

And I have been buying gender neutral clothing for YEARS, yes a little crazy but when I have seen things too cute to pass up I have figured I'd regret it if I didn't buy it!

Around the time we started trying I was at Babies R Us shopping for a friend and bought a blanket on clearance.  It was pink and had two adorable white bunnies on it and I couldn't resist.  But since BFP the only thing I bought were two books yesterday.

Books on pregnancy.  I'm dying to buy everything, but really need to do it budget wise, so I'm holding out.  But it's sooooooooo hard! I'm going to try to wait til we know the sex at least.

This pregnancy I haven't purchased anything.  My last pregnancy I got books and a work out DVD for pregnant women.

Nothing for this pregnancy.  I have all of my books from the last time.

But, the last time, I didn't buy anything for the baby until around 25 weeks.  I couldn't do it any earlier.

I purchased "What to expect" , a baby name book and Consumers digest guide for baby products.  I look in the baby section at every store every time I go in, but just can't bring myself to buy just yet.  A work friend brought in her pack n' play and a bag of misc. baby things for me, but I haven't even brought them home yet.  I'm a nervous nellie! lol

I bought this cute little hooded towel. It was on sale, and I couldn't resist. I didn't buy any books until I had my 10 week ultrasound.

Even now, at 16 weeks, I haven't bought much. I'm waiting until the "big" u/s before I start going baby crazy.

Two years ago when we first started trying(I think our first cycle) I had bought a johnDeere onsie, and bib that says I Love Daddy.  I gave that to him the day I got my BFP.  Right after I got my BFP I told my DH than my BFF and we went to the mall.  I ended up buying this adorable knitted jumper from the Gap for  a take home outfit.  I thought it was a bit early but I couldnt resist.  But I am going to wait until after our U/S at 8 weeks to buy anything more.

With #1, I didn't buy a single thing until after our big u/s.  Then DH and I went out to lunch and started our registry for baby BOY!  It was wonderful, but hard to contain ourselves.  We only bought a sign for his room and 2 adorable onsies.

We haven't purchased anything for this baby yet, and will likely wait until the 20w u/s.
