XP: My boy's are here at 35 weeks

My water broke early Friday morning.  My boy's were born at 3:31am and 3:32am.  I was 35 weeks and 4 days.  Both were in the NICU for observation for 24 hours and then were downgraded to the Special Care Nursery.  They are doing well they just need to learn how to suck, swallow, and breathe all at the same time while eating a bottle.  It is very hard not to have them home with me but hopefully they will get everything down soon so we can all be home together!  Anyone else have twins around this gestational age, if so how long before they got the eating thing down?  Please keep them in your prayers! Thanks!

  • I had my baby at 35 w and 4 days. He also only needed to learn to suck, swallow, breathe. It took 17 days for him to come home. Congrats on your two little ones!

  • Congrats on your boys!  DD was a bit earlier than them (34w2d) and it took her a few weeks to be able to take all of her feedings by mouth.  I hope your boys are home with you quickly!
  • My DS was born at 34.5 weeks and required CPAP for 1-2 days.  After that, it was all about eating and growing.  He spent 13 days in the NICU.  Best of luck to your family!

  • Congrats!!! My twins boys were also born at 35w4d.  They had temp maintenance/blood sugar issues and spent 8 days in the NICU, but they were able to feed with no trouble (fortunately). I hope your stay is relatively uneventful.
