If you've chosen to use a "unique" spelling for your child's name, what was your reasoning behind it? This is not meant to be a nit-picky thing, I'm genuinely curious as to how folks come about with the different spellings.
For example:
Jackson = Jaxson or Jaxon
Olivia = Olyvia or Olivea
etc...etc...etc...
Re: Question about "unique" spelling of baby's name...
Our spelling of Jakob is not necessarily unique, just uncommon.
He's named after my dad, whose initials were JAK.
We liked the way Keaghan looked better than Keegan... there's really only one way to spell Jack... unless you leave out the "c" or the "k" which looks weird to me...
We actually wrote out all the different spellings of Keaghan and decided on the way we spelled it because we liked the way it looked.
i knew a girl who spelled it christiy. doesn't even make sense phonetically!
i agree about how it looks.... such a pretty name!
This! Plus, we live in Miami, where there is a huge hispanic population. Orignally, we were gonna spell it Cameron, but in spanish, it is pronounced Cam-er-on which means "Shrimp" in spanish. Everyone at work (they are all hispanic) still call her shrimp.(Camaron = shrimp in spanish)
Camryn Grace ~ July 6th, 2009 ~ 7lbs 9oz, 20.5"
Brayden Richard Drew ~ December 20, 2010~7lbs 9oz, 20"
I picked Kayleigh, bc I loved the name, it was naming her after me (Kay) and since I want to call her Leigh, I used Leigh (girls spelling) for the ending verses lee (guys spelling).
