colic or just hungry

how do you know the difference....  it just seems her cry is so intense lately ... maybe a growth spurt/?

Colic doesn't usually present until 3 mos or so, right? Plus, if she's just hungry, feeding her should calm the cries. Right?

That started at my house 2 days ago....I thought it was gas, turns out it was reflux - even though he doesn't really spit up that much.  So we got some Zantac for it.  They used the term 'colicky' at the office, but I think maybe that's just the generic term some people use when a baby is fussy for no reason and it's hard to calm them down.

I dont know for the "time" frame.. but she does stop crying after i feed her but its just so intense.. shes had alot of gas today too.. poor nugget.

i think colic "starts" at 2w, "peaks" at 6w and should be gone by 12w...and is classified as 3hours a day, 3 days a week, for at least 3 weeks...something like that...it usually starts suddenly and can last a few hours before ending...

Sometimes it can be hard to tell. My DD will act hungry, but then not eat. Lately she gets fussy when she is tired and just tries to fight sleep. Fun stuff!

shes 5 weeks yesterday... shes stopped now so I wonder if shes just sleeping so long it makes her hungry... it didnt help that it took extra time to get her bottle together cus I took her diaper off and she peed everywhere so we had to change her clothes for the 2nd time today.. I think shes getting used to the chilliness in thehouse and i have to wait a few seconds from taking away the diaper for hte initial shock of cold now that its chilly here
