My boss is really pissing me off

I had DD two weeks before her due date.  I was scheduled to go on a training on the 6th and she was born on the 1st (of July).  The training cost $2,500 so I contacted the company to let them know and ask that they contact my boss to discuss payment/reimbursement/rescheduling.

Apparently they never contacted my boss and he sends me an email saying that I should have followed up.

Since when am I supposed to follow up on anything or do any work during maternity leave? He's lucky I even remembered to contact them in the first place.

You aren't supposed to do anything work related when on ML.  It may even be illegal.

Yep I agree, I am pretty sure it's illegal.  I doubt it varies state to state but it might.  My boss told me to not even check my e mail, even to delete junk out - it's a big no no.
