CORINNEALLYSON ...WTF

JUST INCASE THE UNPOPULAR OPINION POST IS CLOSED...

I DONT GET IT!

Corinneallyson:

WTF ARE YOU SERIOUS? THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE AROUND THE WORLD WHO GO THROUGH DELIVERING A CHILD GETS AN EPI AND THEIR CHILDREN ARE COMPLETELY FINE! AND WHO ARE YOU TO JUDGE THE AMOUNT OF PAIN SOMEONE GOES THROUGH...24 HRS OF PAIN OR 1HR OF PAIN.  PEOPLE DEAL WITH PAIN DIFFERENTLY THAN OTHERS...WAY TO JUDGE! DEFINITELY UNPOPULAR OPINION!

Re: CORINNEALLYSON ...WTF

  • In this context, why is this a call-out?

  • I wasn't sure if anyone was still posting on that post or not...and her opinion sucked ...which i know the point of that post is unpopular just still pretty shitty

Her opinion that getting an epi is not a bad thing is a shitty one?

Was the above her response?  Because it looks like she is saying tons of people get epis all the time and the kids come out fine and why judge someone who chooses to get some sort of pain relief.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I am not sure why this is bad.

  • I actually went through the trouble of looking back to the OP.  Apparently Corrineallyson said she didn't get why people got epis right away.

So whatever this post is about, I'm with the PP:  Sleep

    Goodbye now.

No... she said that she doesn't get women who walk into the hospital and get an epi w/out trying to do it without drugs because there might be side effects.

And to corinne- fwiw, it wasn't 24 hours for me- it was 3 days of pain. By day 3 and 8 hours of "transition labor" where I was actually only 3-4 cm dialated I finally decided to get one... and a good thing too since I was in labor for 8 more hours and pushing for 3 1/2 after that. I wouldn't have made it without a nap. So yes, next time I will be getting an epi ASAP.

  •  don't get women checking into the hospital in labor and going straight for the epi. Women all around the world have babies w/o pain meds...and there can be side-effects to the baby with epis & narcotics. At least try to not use them....it's only 24hrs of pain.

I'm sorry but that above statement i feel is pretty shitty and to say its only 24hrs of pain pretty much like just deal with it type of attitude

  • I replied to you in that post.

Look - the whole concept of that post was to be unpopular. There we have it. I don't understand why people argued in that thread....yes, it's unpopular, thus the title of the post....

It's my opinion, your thoughts, no matter how bolded and capitalized, don't change it.

  • i seen you replied to me in that post but it was too late i had already did my post by the time i realized.  and 2nd.  You are right about why its called unpopular post but just because you went natural doesn't mean that people should just try to deal with pain because you think its only 24hrs..

and 3rd I copied and pasted what i wrote in that post.  I didn't intentional bold it.

(btw, i had a c-section so i have no idea what it feels like to have a vaginal delivery.......but i do know that pain is pain and people deal with it differently.  and it shouldn't be judged since millions of people rec'v epi)

  • If you read my post carefully, I said "try" to not use drugs...not that you should never under any circumstances use them. It is fact that epis and narcotics can cause reactions in newborns. Obviously, it does not happen to everyone, or no one would use them, but it is true that it can. My post was about women who check in and go straight to anesthesiology without trying to handle it. I think people should TRY...

FWIW - my post wouldn't apply to you. I said "try" without...you did.

I was just saying that next time I don't know that I will really try- we will see when I get there. I totally understand your POV & I'm not offended at all by it. I hate putting unnecessary crap into my body & LO's body.  I was just pointing out that there are sometimes pretty good reasons not to try.
