Okay, so yesterday DD had her first well baby appointment and while we were in the waiting room I got to sit and listen to one of the most obnoxious conversations ever.  It was between a man and woman (they weren't there together, just random strangers) who looked like they were both late forties, early fifties and they kept repeating how "parents these days dont raise their children with respect" and how "you can blame all the young parents for the disrespectful brats that are in schools these days"... They were going off for over an hour about how horrible parents are these days and how they could show new parents a thing or two about raising children the right way...

Okay, all that got annoying enough on its own, but the man started talking about how he had raised his daughter right because she knew that if she ever came home pregnant, he'd "beat it out of her" (yes, his words EXACTLY).  I almost choked when he said that...and then he kept repeating it.

Now, maybe its just me, but it seems pretty f'ed up that he kept throwing around the word respect like he was some kind of God, but he actually said "my daughter knew that if she ever came home pregnant, I'd beat it out of her" while there was another woman who looked like she was about 8 months pregnant and I was with my 3 week old in the room!  WTF?!  Uttering those words at all is bad enough, but in that kind of company...in a doctors office?!
