pedipeds for walkers?

Do you think they have enough support? Enough traction?

My DS seems to do better and is happier in soft soled shoes, but he's growing out of the ones he has and loves and I cant get another pair (the were from Baby Style Crying). I am also looking at See Kai Runs, but they kind of look like bowling shoes to me.

Re: pedipeds for walkers?

  • DD out grew her pedipeds before she started walking, but I heard that they do hold up. They also have the Flex ones that have a rubber sole.?

  • DD loves her pedipeds.  She wears them all of time and she is trying to run!
  • DD's feet don't fit in pedipeds anymore.  They're too long/flat, she's more stubby/fat footed...
  • Im not worried about the size thing, A has tiny feet like me. He maybe wears a 4, but maybe a 3.5.

  • We love them for our walker! :) They are very durable because she's worn them outside on the concrete and they aren't scuffed. I think they are comfy, cute and worth the $.

Ditto... DD has played in them at the playground, she is pretty rough and they look brand new! I am buying more in the next sizes.

  • LOVE THEM!! My daughter is on the last "soft-soled" size and am desparately looking for another of the same type. She runs on tile in them, runs on the cement, doesn't fall, and prefers them over her "hard-sole" shoe.  suppose if I put her in the hard shoes, she'll eventually get used to it, but I just feel the soft sole has a ton of support and flexibility. Also, they last a long time. I've sold all her out-grown pedipeds on eBay and purchased a new pair of the next size.
  • Lyla just started walking, and honestly, I've been avoiding her Pedipeds because the traction isn't great. We have hardwood floors, and they're definitely slippier than her See Kai Runs or Rileyroos. Which sucks, because we have a ridiculous number of Pedipeds for the winter... maybe as she gets more stable, they'll work better. But in the meantime, I find myself putting her in anything with a little more tread.
  • I stopped using them after DD started walking because I preferred something with more traction. Her first walking shoes were the Stride Rite "early walkers," and we also had good luck with See Kai Runs.

The pediped flex do have rubber soles, but they're not very flexible and therefore are better for more established walkers.
