Canon DSLR owners

ok so i finally narrowed it down....i'm getting a Canon XS.  it comes with a 18-55mm lens in the kit but i think in addition to that one, i'm going to get the 1.8-55mm lens for some really close up pics of DD. 

what lenses do you own or want?  pros/cons?

are there any other things that are good to have with this camera?

I have the 55mm one you are already getting.  LOVE IT!

You also might want to consider getting  a speedlite for when you're shooting indoors.  I hate the pop-up flash.  I have the 430 EX II.

I've gotten into photography as a hobby - not just to take pictures of my son. It's an expensive one to get into! I've joined a photo club, am buying books, and will be taking a class at our local community college. It's very, very fun.

oh and for other lenses - i love my 28-135 sometimes. i have a 17-35 wide angle, but i dont use it often. i don't know why lol

I got the 55-200 lens and LOVE it... but the downfall is I have to switch lenses out a lot.... but I like to take close ups with that one...even though I have to be super far away.... my little one does better if I'm not right in her face. I've been wanting to get the Nikon D90 because my pictures aren't turning out as crisp as I want them.... however, I think I need to take some photography classes before I change cameras.... it may be the operator!!!
