if my birth was "normal" or a c-section. Both times left me at a loss for a moment and I just replied with "vaginal". Even I found that to be rather insensitive.
I know, people in my DH's family kept asking if I went "natural" I kept replying that no I gave in and got the epidural . Later I realized by nuatural they really meant vaginal but could not say it
Re: I was asked twice this week by two different people...
I think people say normal because they are uncomfortable (and/or too immature) to use the word vaginal...
IMO, if you aren't close enough with someone to use that word you probably shouldn't be asking!!?
One was an HR person talking about my leave. I'm sure she talks to women about this everyday...just say the damn word...VAGINAL!
The other well, that's a different story...
