npr: Did your MOH give a speech?

My sisters never gave a speech at my wedding (just the best man did) but I have been in more weddings that the maid of honor has given a speech.  My baby sister is getting married this weekend and I'm not sure what to do.  So..... did your MOH give a speech?

nope but she was not really old enough to.. she was only 18

My older sister was my matron of honor.  My younger sister was my maid of honor.  The best man was my FIL.  And my FIL and my younger sister both gave a speech.

My sister's was the "upper hand" speech --- Joe's gram was less than pleased.  I had never heard it before and was hysterical.

yes- it was short and sweet... the BM's speech was way too long (he was too drunk, lol)

My sister and I were MOHs for each other, we did speeches.

Both my MOH and the BM gave speeches at mine.

Yes. And when I was a moh, I gave one. I have never been to a wedding where a moh didn't give a speech

Yes, she did. I think 95% of the weddings I have been to the MOH gives a speech.

yes my moh did.  she had to return the favor from my speech at hers.

No one gave a speech at our wedding...not sure why.

At my DD's wedding both her maid of honor and matron of honor gave a speech and the best man did too.  They were all fairly short and sweet.

I would ask your sister if you can give a speech (if you want to).  Just make it short if she says OK.
