Re: If you all ready put NB clothing away

  • I put it all in a plastic storage bin and put it at the top of her closet.  She was 2 months old.

  • He was 1 mon old and I cried.

    It's in a plastic container.

  • I have a plastic tote and I put his clothes in it as he grows out of them.  It is in his closet so I can do it as I notice.

  • We're just starting to put our NB clothing away.  We're just putting it in an old diaper box in her closet.  Eventually, when we have enough clothes she doesn't fit in anymore, we'll get a tote to put in there.  She's 6 weeks old today, but still wears a few of her NB clothes.
  • I keep a clear tote in S's room and when I put and outfit one her and it doesn't fit I just throw it in that. I will put it in our attic when the tote is full. She has grown out of some of her NB clothes already.

  • We never got to use any NB size clothes or diapers. LO was born at 9 lbs 9 oz and grew really quick. Hes now in 9 mo and 12 mo clothes at almost 3 months old.  We have NB-6 mo in a plastic bin for the next one

  • I had to put mine away last night :(  Started a box in our guest room, labeled it, has room for probably a few more sizes so I'm planning on just adding to it.

  • Plastic storage bin. It's in his closet right now but will later be moved to our storage unit when it's full. It has newborn, 0-3 month and some 3 month clothing in it now.
  • Plastic storage containers, labeled and into the attic. I don't remember how old he was we had several containers with different sizes: preemie, NB/0-3, 3-6 mo

He is currently wearing 9-12 month clothing.  I keep a container with the next size in the closet on the floor and as something doesn't fit of that size group then I just toss it in there. It makes it easier.

  • I've been going through her stuff  over the past week.  I'll be donating most of it to a women's drug rehab center.  I'll take the really nice stuff to a consignment shop.

I think this is my last baby....so it's pretty sad.  :(  BUt I don't want the clothes to just sit in a container in storage when they could benefit someone else's LO.

  • I started putting it "away" about 3 weeks ago... yeah, at 4 weeks, but I haven't stored it yet, the few things we had in NB are in a drawer and I need to find a proper storage system soon.

  • Rubbermaid container in a dry place (no where too warm either).  Keeps the sun, bugs and other crap out of it in case it's a few years before we go to get them out.

    He was a month old.

  • We have a bin the bottom drawer of his dresser, and as things don't fit they get tossed in that bin.  When it filled up I put everything in a cloth storage box from Ikea that lives under the crib.  We have two boxes full of clothes that don't fit yet, one full of my maternity clothes and one for clothes that he's grown out of.  He's pretty much out of all his NB stuff at this point, I think I just put the last of his NB onsies in the bin last night.  He outgrew sleepers sooner because he is so tall, but even the onsies don't fit over his big fat cloth diapered butt anymore.

We do this also. I have one for "boy" stuff and one for "neutral" stuff. I put socks, onsies, and outfits away accordingly. Also, I have just packed away all of his shorts/outgrown outfits. I do it as he grows out of it because he has way too many clothes and we need the closet space to store them! It's very easy. Also, I found that putting the socks into a labeled sandwich baggy helps. I am just trying to keep myself sane for the future in case I have a girl, I can just pull out the neutral stuff and not dig through an entire box of clothing! It is very sad and I have looked at some of the stuff I've packed away. Then I just remind myself how muh he's grown and how much he can do now!

  • I put away his newborn and most of his 0-3 month clothes at the same time when he was about two months old or so.

I just put it one of those space saver vacuum bags.  For now, it's in his closet.  After I put the 6 month clothes away, I'm going to put them all in a bin for our next LO.

  • In a plastic bin...he outgrew it all around 6 weeks.
  • We put her NB clothing away at 2 months, when she was fitting in 0-3 clothes.  We stored it in a plastic bag and then in a cardboard box.  We're storing it in our basement for now.  She is gradually growing out of 0-3 clothes and I keep a box in her room, as she outgrows it I toss it in the box and when it's full I'll move it to the basement.

--Sorry if that was all too much info.

Thanks for asking, you always ask such good questions.

  • I gave them to a friend who's expecting. She'll give them back when she's done but I figured they might as well get some use instead of just hanging around until I have another baby.

I put them aside as he outgrew them and gave them to my friend when I had a big bagful.

  • For now, I'm loosely tossing any too small clothes (mostly Carters NBs and Gerber 3-6s) into a large empty diaper box. When the box gets full, I'll sort through it. I started the process at 4 weeks, but I keep missing some things as SO tosses them back into the laundry and whatnot. Stick out tongue

We received a lot of the items on loan from a friend of mine, and we'll be sharing back and forth, so once I go to sort through things, I'll be putting them in a Space-Saver vacuum bag.

  • I haven't put the NB stuff away because she just started wearing some of it this week.  I did start putting some of her preemie stuff away though.  I also put it in a plastic bin in her closet.  I will probably start gathering the stuff she has grown out of and DS old stuff and get a table at a Mom 2 Mom sale since this is our last.
