I just got one yesterday and have been trying it out. It's been a little tricky so far and I'm not sure LO likes it! She kind of screams when I put her in it and is really fidgety at first. She did eventually calm down though and actually fell asleep in it. So anyhow, did your LO like it right away? My LO may just be getting annoyed because it's taking me so long to get her in properly. Hopefully with practice, we'll get it down!
Also, what position do you use when you put your LO in it? My LO is only 2 wks old, so we are just trying the one where she is facing me. I'm not sure she likes her face so close to my chest though. I try to turn her head to the side, but she never stays that way. Maybe she'd like the cradle position more? Also, have you ever used your Moby to hold LO while BFing? That would be awesome, but I wonder how much of a pain it would be to switch LO from one side to the other.
Last question: Where do use your Moby most? Do you use it just around the house or do you go out with it a lot? If you go out with it, do you like it better than using a stroller?
Thanks for any tips you can offer!
Re: For those who have a Moby...
LO calms down pretty much immediately when I put him in it -- he likes being that close to me. I used the Kangaroo hold today when I went to the mall, but I just figured out that the Newborn Hug Hold does essentially the same thing, and this is what I have him in now.
If she doesn't like being on her belly that close to you, for sure try the Cradle Hold. There are tons of things you can do with this!
As for the BF aspect of it, I don't BF, so I don't know.
J would fuss and squirm a little for a minute or 2. i usually pat his but a little, walk around kinda bouncing till he calms down then were golden! (wel we were.. he not a huge fan anymore.. i think he feels too constrained)
Are you making sure the part that is under her butt it completely spread out so its like a seat that wraps around her but and not just a rope under it?? tha makes it a lot more comfy.
I usually just use it around the house because it drags when you put it on. I used it at the store for the 1st time yesterday but i pt it on before we left the house.
Also I think forward facing carries arent really recommened because of the way it holds your baby. Baby is basically hanging by the crotch that way instead of sittng in a pouch. I think the recoomemed way for little one to be able to see is a "high back carry" (?)
also check out youtube for how to do different holds.
