I need decorating help!

I don't know what to do with these spaces in my bedroom!  I know it looks like I need some color, but we have one accent wall that is pretty bright so I don't know about more paint.  What can I put up there?  I thought about artificial plants, but I highly doubt I will dust them often enough. Help please! : )

A friend of mine has a space like that and put up fake plants and decorative boxes (like stacking hat boxes).  Something like this:

my friend's mom has some plain swags (ivy maybe?) and then wrapped them in a ribbon (hers is sheer like wine-ish colored) and clear christmas lights... i think it looks great and you can't tell she doesnt dust

ANythign you put up there you will have to dust!  I have those stacking boxes in my kitchen up top cabinets and LOVE them!! Whats your bedrm theme?? or "feel"??  No one will see the dust though....

You just want stuff on those 2 "shelves"??

BIG Candles, Vases, greenery, maybe swag some fabric kinda sloppy...OR TRUNKS!!! I LOVE TRUNKS!!  you could get some cool antique-y kinda trunks and leave them open or lay them on the side and kinda lay some fabric or greenery in and around it, like overflowing out of it!

It's pretty plain and cozy.. just black, white and bright green.  I just want something to make it look better.  I have a huge shelf thing like that in my living room and I have some big pots.  Maybe I can do that.  Can't tell when those are dusty. : )
