Calling all fashionable people.

Smile

I have decided that this Fall I want to buy a pair of boots.  I usually clomp around in sneakers or something and I am tired of it. BUT I am challenged in the fashion department and do not know what is "in".  Ankle? Over the calf? Do you have to tuck your jeans in? (I guess if you want them seen) Can you wear them with skirts? What do YOU like to wear them with?

Some ideas...

Offered in various colors.

Re: Calling all fashionable people.

  • I have a pair like #4 and I love them.  They aren't too tall, but they aren't anklets either.

I also like the 2nd pair.

Have you checked out Alloy.com? They have some cute boots for not very much $$ :)

I will have to check.  I am on Overstock.com right now and their prices seem great!

  • Right now they are showing a lot of ankle booties and over the knee boots. One can be cute, the other I'll leave for those who get paid to give BJs :) All the flat boots you posted would look really cute with leggings, which is a nice way to be comfy and look cute, IMHO. Love the gray ones - gray seems to be big this season. I really want a pair of booties, but I don't wear skinny jeans so I can't tuck them in and I don't know how else to wear them.
  • I like the last pair, but only because I prefer a skinny heel.   The others do seem to be fairly in style now as well, but I just do not personally like them on me.

  • i like #2 and #5 the best, and i would wear them over jeans, leggings, or with a skirt. hth:)

  • <--- not fashionable, but giving my two cents anyway...

i like the first pair of ankle boots cause they seem more everyday to me.  i'm not really into the slouchy look for taller boots, but i'd pick #3 out of those.

  • I think most of those you posted are meant to be worn with the jeans tucked in.  I just can't get into the skinny jean though (do they even make skinny maternity jeans??!!), it gives me 80s flash backs.  I usually prefer a heal, even though I am tall.  I just think they make me look longer and leaner.
  • This might be more than you want to hear. If so, ignore me.

The fourth pair is the only one I would consider. What is 'in' right now is actually over the knee (not sure you'd do that) or a more toned down version of the last pair. Most of those have too much going on for my tastes - either go with slouchy OR buckles, not both. I also prefer ankle boots in either a suede, or a less shiny leather, with very little embellishment. The style is flashy enough on it's own, skip the wrap-around, buckles, etc.

I have a pair of Loeffler Randall boots like #5 that have the wedge heel like that, but are otherwise plain.

mel41g - they DO make skinny maternity jeans!  I have a few pairs. :-)

  • How about something like this?

  • Flower: Those ankle boots are cute! I really wanted a pair of boots to wear over my jeans but I have larger calves and fear they will not fit.  I may need to stick with ankle boots.
  • LOVE the boots that flower posted. I have to wear flats or I would have some like these. DH is half an inch shorter than me already...
