1st Trimester

Ugghhh...

I am so upset/mad/hormonal/whatever.  I wrote about this the other day.  My dr. gave me a prescription for Zofran, however, my insurance will only cover 9 pills for 22 days, yeah right!!  They said if I had the dr. call and give authorization, they would give me my full prescription.  Called yesterday, Ob was not in, so left a message for my Ob or my primary (they both work in the same office).  No call, nothing.  Called this morning OB was in, so I left another message.  Called this afternoon, OB was only working morning, had already gone home and they could not tell me if the insurance company had been called.  Called insurance company and they said no dr. had called.  I just took my last pill of Zofran.  I am so frusrated because I feel like you can never get a call into your dr. w/o it taking weeks to get a response back.  Uggghhhh....I want to cry.

  • I'm sorry! It really sucks when you know that your short window of feeling good is being threatened by medical red tape. Boo!

  • I'm so sorry. This is the same treatment I was getting from my primary care physician, and I switched.

So far, I've only had to leave 1 msg for my ob and the office called me back within the half hour.

  • I'm so sorry! I was in a similar situation where my insurance was only covering 30 pills for 30 days. Which definitely isn't as awful as your situation....but I need to take them twice a day or I'm a mess! Luckily my dr's office is great and we got things figured out within a few days. I really hope that you get in touch with them tomorrow. It's really frustrating to feel so sick and not have any control!

  • I really don't have much experience with this OB.  So hopefully, she will call tomorrow.  I defnitely feel like have a no control and in my opinion a dr. should call you back by the end of the day.
  • My OB just called.  She will try and call the insurance and if that doesn't work she will give me a new prescription.  Yeah!!
  • I'm glad she called you back so you can get your script filled!
