Are you all set for winter for your DC's?

I was talking with some co-workers yesterday at lunch, and they were amazed that I had purchased L's hat, coat, snow pants, gloves and boots already.  I don't think I purchased anything too early, and was more concerned that it would start snowing and I would be S.O.L. 

Tell me I'm not crazy.  Others have shopped for winter outdoor apparel, right?

We tried her coat on from last year and it fit for that moment ... so I need to keep my eyes open. And I saw some snow boots at Target yesterday but refrained from getting them. I'm so not ready for snow yet.

Yard sale early summer - got everything we needed but boots.  Still need to get those.

 

ETA DS is set for clothes, DD has almost zero fall/winter clothing.  What we got was the outdoor stuff LOL

I use the Just In Time approach to DD's clothing. Either that or I buy on super clearance the season before. I have bought nothing for fall or winter.

I have stared. I just need to get some leggings, tights, socks and shoes then dd is all done.

ditto joseys, I have maybe a handfull of fall stuff. I'm still trying to figure out what she fits into from last year!

not yet. I hope that when I get back on my feet I will be able to go and get the last few items. Coats, winter pj's etc.

Well, thanks to you we have a coat. Yay! But we still need everything else. *sigh*

Haven't even really gotten anything for fall yet.  DD#2 is set.  She's not quite into 2T yet, but she can wear them anyway.  DD#1 doesn't have any clothes for fall or winter yet.  We usually get hand-me-downs, but less and less every year because kids slow down and wear out their clothes.  She just moved up a size.  We have some jeans and t-shirts, but that's as far as I've gotten.  Oh and they both do have winter coats.  DD#2 will wear DD#1's from last year and my mom got DD#1's at the end of last season.  And I did order them some cute winter hats from etsy recently.  Still waiting on those to come in.  No mittens or sweaters or anything, but we're in TX.  It's still into the 80s most days (at least 70s).  It'll be months before we need sweaters let alone winter coats...probably.

I am trying to stagger my buying this time around because I always go nuts and buy tons of clothes at the beginning of the season, then I'm sick of them (and out of money--and DD grows out of them) by the end of the season. So, DD#1 has a few things and we'll wait to buy some more as we go along. As for DD#2, I need to get out the crates and see what fits! I'm sure she'll be fine since I DD#1 has always had way too many clothes. :-)

ETA: We're all good with winter coats and hats, but need boots and gloves. Are winter boots really in stores already???

I have and we rarely have a "winter" here.  I bought a lot at the end of the season clearance sales last April and consignment shops.  I love being in the routine of buying at the end of a season for the following one.  Wish I could do that for myself.

I still need to get coat, snowpants, boots, hat and mittons,but other than that we are pretty set for fall and winter.

I waited til it snowed last year to look for gloves and was SOL.  So, no, I definitely don't think you are crazy!

I tried his coats on from last year (and they all fit). I still have to try on his gloves/mittens and some hats. My mom is picking up his snow pants at Meijers and I still have to go look for boots (I found them at Target last year).

I'm hoping to find some stuff at some Mom-to-mom sales I'm going to hit in the next 2 weeks!!  I bought boots and winter jackets (for DS #1) at the last sale I went to!  I'm hoping to find some snow pants.  DS #2 is pretty much set - he's getting the hand me downs
