Anyone have negative blood?

So I am O- and DH is A+. Which means I need a shot! Ugh... I have to go back and get it today or tomorrow morning. Just went to the OB this morning to do a urine test and get the basic info. Then did the bloodwork. She originally thought it was ok for me to wait until my nurse's appointment on 10/15, but she called me back after I left and I was already close to work, but she said I have to come in as soon as I can.

Anyone else have the same thing? I hate shots

I got a rhogam shot right after my miscarriage. I will get one at 20 weeks then again after delivery. DH and I are both O-.

I got one around 28 weeks w/ DD. Didn't need one after delivery because she was negative. I got another one after my MC. I won't get one this time again until around 28 weeks.

Yup, I had to have the Rhogam shot after my miscarriage too.  It's really not that bad!  It's over in a second!   I think by that point I was just so upset I didn't really care what they did to me...but I don't remember it being bad at all.

I had one after my miscarriage also. The nurse said something like "You have to get the dreaded shot." And while I wasn't thrilled, I didn't see this as a problem, I'm not super scared of shots. So I rolled up my sleeve and turned my head. She said "No honey, it goes in your rear." Ugh. I thought I was done with butt-shots when I turned six. Good news for me: It didn't hurt later that day at all.

Yeah, I had it with DS at 27 weeks and after delivery.  Why are you getting it now?? Did you have bleeding??

I had some spotting/bleeding last week before I even tested positive. They said if you have negative blood type you have to do it in the beginning. My sister had to do the same thing when she was pregnant (she told me the negative blood can attack the baby or something.)

EDIT: I also need to get one at 28 weeks.

my husband and i are + and -..........by ob said i wouldnt get it until 20 weeks or so. that it wasnt needed this early on? i even asked him about it at our first meet and greet after my test popped + in his office

I had one at 7 weeks due to a bad bleeding incident.  I will have one next week at 28weeks and then again after delivery if our daughter is positive. 

If my husband was negative as well I wouldn't need any of the shots.  The pp said she had the shots even though her hubby was negative as well.  That's weird.

 I think they just do it regardless of the DH's bloodtype-they didn't as me his. In this day and age, you never know.. and it is better off just to give it to everyone that is negative.

yup, had mine at 5w due to bleeding, Im negative and husband is positive. The shot itself wasnt really bad imo, I didnt look at the needle before hand, but it didnt hurt much and within the hour I didnt even feel the injection site.
